Looks and feels gr8...very easy to put together! |
well, first the product and the finish looks very rich. I am a week shy of completing my 8th month, and I put this thing together all by myself, no sweat...it juz took me 20mins...infact, I didnt even use the instrctn manual except for putting the armrest 2gether...the cushions are soft and velvetty. Ottoman came assembelled...the rocking is smooth too...so far no complaints...if any i'll edit this review :o) |

Just OK |
This item shipped quick, I put it together with no problems, and its comfortable. However, when with I or my wife sit in the chair and want to rock, our butts push down on the locking mechanism through the seat pad and springs which lock the chair from rocking. Its very annoying. |

This product is awful |
Ordered this for the birth of our new baby. The pieces did not fit together: i.e. the screws did not match up with the holes, so we had to leave some parts of it unscrewed. Worst of all, the locking mechanism doesn't work. You swing along then suddenly it locks and you stop right in mid swing. A tremendous pain in the rear when you are rocking a baby to sleep. I will never purchase another Shermag product. |

Tips over too easy |
This is actually a fairly dangerous chair. I almost tipped over in it and I was rocking normal (and I'm a little woman - 4ft 11 110lbs). My son climbed on it (2yrs old) and before I new what happened - it tipped back throwing him to the floor. A heavy coat draped over the back makes it lean pretty far back. Even my husband was shocked about the coat. Maybe I put it together incorrectly? (I don't think so but for the benefit of the doubt...) I've had other gliders of the same price that were more comfortable as well... |

Regretted buying this when assembling it |
Watching my husband toil over the assembly of this chair, trying to force badly fitted parts together I instantly regretted this purchase as it just didn't seem that well produced. It's also quite a narrow seat (I am a size four). Also the stool does not lock and keeping my toddler off it whilst breastfeeding my infant was a bit stressful! I did a lot of research in buying this item and I really think that you get what you pay for and would always recommend trying out a seat first. |
