Strange Ball Popper |
|
Well, at first this toys was acceptable for my son. The music is fun. The balls fly too far up into the air and roll all over the place! My son can't keep up with them and neither can I! Also, at 9 months or so may son developed a fear of this toy. I think it is the noise- it is quite noisy. |

Toddler loves it, Parents don't |
My daughter likes this toy a lot - it was a gift and we were very excited about it at first.
Unfortunately we don't like it as much as my daughter does - the balls fall out onto the floor more than they stay on the toy track and my daughter gets frustrated because to play with the toy more than once requires a break to go pick up all the balls that flew out of the toy.
Also, sometimes the balls seem to get stuck in the chute - maybe the air pressure gets blocked or something, not sure.
My daughter likes it, so that's the most important thing, but I really wish the balls didn't drop out all over the floor. |

The young and the old |
My daughter, Callie, received this toy as a gift for Christmas (so my review is of a short period of ownership). Although she is only 6 1/2 mos, she very much enjoyed watching the balls move throughout the toy. Her 2 year old cousin, Lola, also enjoyed the toy, but could not grasp the concept that the balls come out of the upper hole and the toy became frustrating for Callie, Lola, and us supervising adults when the balls were put into the upper hole causing them to become stationary inside the toy. The other minorly frustrating thing is that when the balls come flying out, they hit each other or the toy itself and get scattered around the room - thankfully not dangerously. The picture on the box is somewhat deceptive when it comes to this fact. All in all, I don't think it's a bad toy, but could've used a bit more thought into the making.
Pros:
Entertaining from infant thru toddler
Colorful
Educates
Short self-timed shut off
Does not take up a lot of room
Can be turned on easily
Cons:
Balls can be lost
Occasional non-movement of balls
Short self-timed shut off |

Absolutely Obnoxious... |
I have passed by this toy countless times in the isles of Wal-mart, but never felt the need to purchase it. Well, my 10 month old son received it for Christmas and it's fast become my least favorite toy. There is no volume control, which is a huge bummer since this plays extremely loud music, and the fan that pushes the balls up sounds like a blow dryer. Very loud.
The worst thing though is the balls pop up so hard and fast that they fly all over the place. My son seems to enjoy the balls popping up and cycling through the toy, but I have to sit there with it and keep my hand over the top to prevent the balls from flying all over, otherwise, they go everywhere and he just loses interest. We have light carpeting and they still manage to roll under furniture or across the room.
In the end, I'd say avoid this. It's definitely not worth the trouble. Way too noisy and too much work. I think I'm gonna put it away till he's a bit older, and can chase after the balls himself. I'm just thankful I listened to my gut and didn't spend my own money on this colossal pain-in-the-rear! |

Inconsistent fun for 22 month old |
My 22 month old Daughter received this for Christmas. I was concerned that it would be too young for her, but she was definitely very taken with it. The music is fairly charming in small doses, and my daughter enjoys naming the colors of all the balls as they pop up.
My low rating comes from the fact that the balls are very inconsistent. sometimes they stick in the channel part, so they just sit there and don't get blown up, other times they blow so hard they fly all over the room. Overall I'm just not very impressed with the playability of this toy. |
